PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder and an image forming apparatus capable of reducing the occurrence of jam by preventing paper from abutting on a plate-like member provided above the paper.SOLUTION: A paper feeder includes a paper feed cassette 6 and a base plate frame lower surface 8. Paper is placed to be layered on the bottom surface 60 of the paper feed cassette 6. A projection 84 projecting upward is formed on the base plate frame lower surface 8. The paper in the paper feed cassette 6 is taken out along a paper feeding direction X by a pickup roller 81, separated one by one by a paper feeding roller 82 and fed to a main paper conveyance path S. In the paper feeding direction X, the projection is formed at a spot including a spot to an upstream side of the paper feeding roller 82 from a downstream side of the pickup roller 81, and in a width direction Y, the projection 84 is formed at a spot including positions to which both ends of the paper in the paper feed cassette 6 are opposed. |
