PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic nanostructure having a shape capable of exhibiting excellent optical performance, and further, to provide a method which can easily produce a metallic nanostructure capable of being directly imprinted on a base material and having a prescribed shape using a metal-dispersed liquid.SOLUTION: The method for producing a metallic nanostructure includes: a preparation step; an embossing step; a drying step; and a peeling step, and, as a mold, a die formed of a rubber having solvent absorption capacity is used. In the metallic nanostructure, the surface of a base material is provided with projections formed of metal, each projection has a cubic shape other than a columnar shape, the mean circle-equivalent diameter of the basal surface thereof is ≤100 μm, and the ratio between the mean circle-equivalent diameter and the mean height of the basal surface of the projection ((the mean height)/(the mean circle-equivalent diameter)) is ≥0.5. |
