PURPOSE: A method for collecting and filing return information of return mail and a system thereof are provided to standardize a return information banner, thereby reducing effort and time necessary for a database of a return reason of the return mail. CONSTITUTION: An image information obtainment unit obtains image information by photographing a surface of return mail (S630). A barcode reading unit extracts a barcode from the image information and obtains sender information and recipient information by reading the barcode. A return reason information obtainment unit obtains return reason information based on position information of a return reason area. A mailman information obtainment unit obtains mailman information by recognizing characters of a mailman area (S650).
