PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve luminance in an outer circumference of a display device without arranging a light source separately.SOLUTION: The backlight device includes a plurality of LEDs 28, an LED substrate 30 having a plurality of LEDs 28 installed on a plate surface, a chassis 22 which has a bottom plate 22a of rectangular shape in a plan view, and has the LED substrate 30 installed on the bottom plate 22a with the LEDs 28 exposed, a reflection sheet 20 which is installed straddling over the LED substrate 30 and the bottom plate 22a, and has a bottom part 20a that extends along the plate surface of the bottom plate 22a and covers a large portion of the bottom plate 22a, and a rising part 20b1 which rises from the outer end of the bottom part 20a to the light emitting side of the LED 28 and inclines against the bottom part 20a, and a projection piece 34 which is arranged on the rising part 20b and projects to the light-emitting side of the LED 28, and has an exposed surface to be exposed to both of the LED 28 side and the light-emitting side of the LED 28 to reflect light. |
