A carbon dioxide immobilizing catalyst for converting carbon dioxide to methane to reduce a greenhouse effect due to carbon dioxide is provided, and a method for preparing the carbon dioxide immobilizing catalyst is provided. A carbon dioxide immobilizing catalyst is characterized in that Ni is applied onto an active magnetite(Fe3O4-delta). The active magnetite(Fe3O4-delta) has a delta value of 0.4 to 0.8. The Ni is applied onto the active magnetite(Fe3O4-delta) in the amount of 3 to 5 mol%. A method for preparing a carbon dioxide immobilizing catalyst comprises the steps of: subjecting a magnetite powder to a heat treatment process in a hydrogen atmosphere, thereby reducing the magnetite powder to prepare an active magnetite(Fe3O4-delta); adding the active magnetite to 3 to 5 mol% of an aqueous Ni salt solution to form a slurry; adding ammonia water to the slurry to adjust a pH of the slurry to 9 to 10, and heating a mixture of the ammonia water and the slurry to a temperature of at least 60 deg.C to perform an application reaction between the ammonia water and the slurry; and heat-treating the dried reactant to at least 600 deg.C after washing, filtering, and drying a reactant. Further, a delta value of the active magnetite(Fe3O4-delta) is 0.4 to 0.8. |
