PURPOSE: A content providing system and a method thereof are provided to diversify content categorization by providing a family content product that can be used by a user added in a home network. CONSTITUTION: A user management unit (110) stores and manages the information about a home gateway and the user information and authenticates the home gateway and home devices. An authority sharing and managing unit (120) manages the connection and sessions with the authenticated home gateway as well as the home user information about the home devices connected to the home gateway based on the family information transmitted by a home device. A content managing unit (130) provides content so that the content can be shared among one or more home devices via the home gateway.
