METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING RANGE SEARCH SERVICES IN DIGITAL MAP

PURPOSE: A digital map area search service providing method and a system thereof are provided to allow a user to directly select a certain area on a map screen, thereby providing a user-tailored search service regarding an intended searching area or searching section. CONSTITUTION: An area search service providing system receives an input regarding a certain area on a digital map from a user (S11). The system asks the user to select certain categories that the user want to search (S12). The system extracts the coordinates of the selected area (S13). The system searches out POI (Point Of Interest) information based on the extracted coordinates (S14). The system displays the POI information on the screen (S15).
