PURPOSE: Compensation item providing method and device of an online game are provided to give an item to be used in other modes so that users can enjoy various modes provided in a game. CONSTITUTION: At least one mode-wise compensation item table with respect to each of plurality of modes capable of providing in a game is generated (S110). Compensation item probability is set to the plurality of compensation item information included in the each compensation item table (S120). A compensation item providing device judges a match mode according to a mode selection signal received from a user terminal or a game server (S130).
