An ion generator of an air conditioning system for a vehicle is provided to maximally reduce the amount of harmful cations introduced into an indoor of the vehicle without decreasing the amount of cations. An ion generator of an air conditioning system for a vehicle comprises an air conditioning case(10) having an internal path(14), a blower(20) for blowing outdoor air or indoor air to the internal path, an evaporator(30) installed in an internal path of the air conditioning case, and a cluster ion generator for emitting anions and cations to the evaporator. The cluster ion generator includes an anion discharge electrode(44) and a cation discharge electrode(46) which are installed in the internal path while being spaced apart from each other by a certain interval. A cation reduction unit is provided to reduce the number of cations emitted from the discharge electrodes. |
