PURPOSE: A method for massively rearing geocoris pallidipennis is provided to produce natural enemies for Bemisia tabaci. CONSTITUTION: A method for mass rearing geocoris pallidipennis is as follows. Japanese butterbur pyrausgta egs are evenly put into a breeding container equipped with a moisture absorbing member and absorbent cotton. The absorbent cotton containing moisture and dried tomato or melon leaves are put into the breeding container. Geocoris pallidipennis imago is inoculated in the breeding container and is bred at 25-30 deg.C and 70-80% humid condition for 25-35 days. The imago and members are eliminated and the absorbent cotton is collected. The absorbent cotton including geocoris pallidipennis eggs is put into the breeding container. The imago is filtered with sieve and is collected. |
