PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for minimizing the movement of the line of sight of a user by displaying a display panel for displaying the result of an input around a selected item and a method for controlling the display device.SOLUTION: A display device includes: a video processing part for processing a video signal; a display part for displaying the processed video signal on a video; an input part of a user who receives the input of the user; and a control part for displaying a plurality of items which can be selected by the user on the display part, and for controlling the display part such that when receiving the input of the user who selects a first item from among the plurality of items from the input part of the user, a display panel for displaying the result of the input is displayed around the first item, and that when receiving the input of the user who selects the first item and the other second item from the input part of the user, the display panel is moved and displayed around the second item. |
