PURPOSE: A digital wattmeter having an enhanced information providing function is provided to induce a consumer to save electricity with a function alerting power consumption starting application of a progressive electric charge. CONSTITUTION: A digital watt meter comprises a transformer (201), a first AD converter (202), a current transformer (203), a second AD converter (204), a controller (210), a key input unit (220), and a memory (260). The transformer measures a voltage applied to a load. The current transformer measures a current applied to the load. The first AD converter converts an analog voltage of the transformer into a digital voltage. The second AD converter converts an analog output of the current transformer into a digital output. The memory stores a program and configuration data for digital electricity measurements. The key input unit inputs the configuration data for digital electricity measurements in the memory. The controller calculates a total used amount, a used amount per a set period, a remaining amount to a progressive charge, an electric charge, and a progressive remaining amount state based on measured power consumption and the set period in the memory, and displays the results of the calculations through a display unit.
