The abnormal connection of the respiration circuit assembly is detected on the basis of detection information of a pressure sensor of the sensor unit. It is determined whether the abnormal connection is in the main unit side from the sensor unit or in the patient side from the sensor unit on the basis of the detection information of a flow rate sensor and a carbon dioxide gas sensor of the sensor unit.
