PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state image pickup device that can suppress the deterioration of resolution while reading an image signal with an interlace system with the use of a 1CCD image pickup system, and also is advantageous for miniaturization.SOLUTION: A control unit 20 controls a pixel array 10 thereby to successively output image signals by two-line unit. A first signal processing unit 13performs first signal processing including addition processing on red pixel signals and blue pixel signals that have been output with two-time outputs by two-line unit. A second signal processing unit 13performs second signal processing including addition processing on green pixel signals that have been output with two-time outputs by two-line unit from the pixel array. The first signal processing and the second signal processing are performed at mutually different timings. In the process of the generation of green image signals on odd fields, red and blue image signals on even fields are generated. In the process of the generation of green image signals on even fields, red and blue image signals on odd fields are generated. |
