PURPOSE: An engine control system of a diesel power generation unit is provided to integrally control the operations which are closely related to each other for power generation. CONSTITUTION: An engine control system of a diesel power generation unit comprises a current sensing unit (110), a revolution per minute (RPM) measuring unit (120), a micro computer (130), a frequency adjusting unit (140), a solenoid control unit (150), and a power supply unit (160). The current sensing unit senses a current of a load. The RPM measuring unit measures the RPM of a diesel engine. The micro computer generates and outputs an RPM control signal to control the RPM of the diesel engine according to the current, which is sensed by the current sensing unit, and the RPM which is measured by the RPM measuring unit. The frequency adjusting unit generates a frequency control signal to adjust the frequency of the current which is to be supplied to a load in a normal state of RPM, and outputs the frequency control signal to the micro computer. The solenoid control unit drives and controls a solenoid (152) by using the RPM control signal which is output from the micro computer and the frequency control signal which is output from the frequency adjusting unit to the micro computer. The power supply unit supplies power to the current sensing unit, to the RPM measuring unit, to the micro computer, and to the solenoid control unit.
