Absorbent solution (A) comprises: (a) at least one amine; (b) water; and (c) at least one degradation-inhibitor compound to reduce the degradation of the amine, where the degradation-inhibitor compound has thiourea structure of formula (R2-NR1-C(=S)-NR3-R4) (I). R1-R4 : H, 1-8C hydrocarbon, 5-8C aryl or heterocyclic group, 1-8C hydroxyalkyl, 1-8C alkoxy-1-8C alkyl, keto-1-8C alkyl, group of formula (-C(=NH)-NH 2), group of formula (-NH-C(=S)-NH 2), group of formula (-C(=S)-NX-Y1), or group of formula (-NX-Y1); and X, Y1 : H, 1-8C hydrocarbon or 5-8C heterocyclic or aryl group.
