<p>The method involves controlling a compensation torque at a thermal engine (10) of a land vehicle according to a standard level if assistance need information is positive, and controlling the compensation torque at the thermal engine according to a standby mode if the assistance need information is negative. The compensation torque is controlled at a stop level that is higher than the standard level when an absolute value of steering wheel position information is greater than a predetermined threshold. An independent claim is also included for a hydraulic steering assistance system.</p> |
