PURPOSE: A rescue request system using a safe taxi application and a method thereof are provided to prevent a crime such as taxi robbery and to be utilized when arresting a criminal after the crime occurs. CONSTITUTION: A rescue request system includes a passenger terminal (100) and a server (300). If a safe taxi application is installed and executed, the passenger terminal scans a taxi identification code attached to a taxi (200) and displays taxi information including taxi driver information, a taxi driver license number, a taxi company name and a taxi license plate number corresponding to the taxi identification code. The passenger terminal generates location information based on GPS information received from a satellite, transmits the location information to a server and delivers location information inputted by a user and location information when scanning the taxi identification code to the server. The server receives departure information and destination information from the passenger terminal and extracts a normal driving route by searching a route from a departure point to a destination. If a driving route of the taxi based on the location information received from the passenger terminal is deviated from the normal driving route over a predetermined distance range, the server recognizes a dangerous situation and provides the taxi information and the location of the passenger terminal to a previously set public institution system or a protector terminal.
