APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CREATING PDN CONNECTION IN A MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A packet data network (PDN) connecting apparatus in a mobile communication system and a method thereof are provided to 'control an access point name (APN) which is generated in an attachment according to a function of a user terminal which has a subscription in which an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) APN is a basic APN' or 'generate a PDN connection which uses an additional APN'. CONSTITUTION: A mobility management entity (MME) (170) receives an IMS capability indicator from user equipment (UE) (160) (101). The MME extracts a basic APN which is used in the basic PDN connection generation of the UE. The IMS capability indicator of the UE indicates that the UE does not support an IMS. And the MME is connected to a different APN which corresponds to the IMS capability indicator in case the basic APN is an APN for IMS (104).
