PURPOSE: A digital content providing method and system are provided to automatically process payment when a distributed content file is executed. CONSTITUTION: An information management module(210) receives an original file, which is uploaded by a copyright holder of registered digital content, and related information. A content management module(220) encodes the received original file by using a specific encoding key value. The content management module generates a reproducible encoded file. The content management module generates a first distribution file. A payment processing module(230) receives payment information from a user terminal which downloads the first distribution file.
