PURPOSE: A metabolic disease prevention containing a parthenocissus tricuspidata extract for diabetic treatment or prevention is provided to prevent and treat obesity and diabetes due to an excellent antioxidant effect by hindering glucose digestion and glucose absorption in intestine and alpha-glucosidase. CONSTITUTION: A diabetic or obesity treatment or prevention composition comprises the Parthenocissus Tricuspidata as an active ingredient. The extract of the parthenocissus tricuspidata is extraction of selected one or more of water, 50-100% of carbon number 1-4 of alcohol, ethyl acetate, hexane, chloroform, methylene chloride, and dichloromethane. The parthenocissus tricuspidata is partitioned with a fraction solvent selected one or more of water, carbon number 1-4 of alcohol, ethyl acetate, hexane, and dichloromethane. A food composition for diabetic or obesity prevention or improvement comprises the Parthenocissus Tricuspidata as an active ingredient.
