PURPOSE: A vehicle collision prevention apparatus using an antenna for a smart key system and a method thereof are provided to provide a technical plan for preventing the collision between vehicles during a lane change of one of the vehicles. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle collision prevention apparatus using an antenna for a smart key system comprises: a communication unit for the smart key system; and a controller transmitting signals through the antenna among plural antennas in the communication unit corresponding to a pointing direction of a vehicle direction lamp, and operating an alarm for notifying the vehicle collision danger when a response signal is received through the communication unit from another vehicle which received the signals transmitted from the controller. A vehicle collision prevention method using the antenna for the smart key system comprises: a step of transmitting a signal using a left LF antenna or a right LF antenna corresponding to the pointing direction of the vehicle direction lamp (S520); a step of determining whether the response signal is received from another vehicle through an RF antenna among the plural antennas in the smart key system (S530); and a step of operating the alarm for notifying the vehicle collision danger when the response signal is received (S540).
