Equipment for manufacturing a stretchable or retractable sleeve comprising: a feed unit that supplies a strip segment (SB), preparation equipment (120) for placing the strip segment (SB) on a welding support (121), by overlap of the edges (SB1, SB2) of the strip to be welded over a linear welding zone (122) of the support (121). The welding zone (122) comprising a support strip (123), a flexible strip (124) covering the rigid support strip (123), and a presser (125) that is transparent to the laser beam and that covers the welding zone with interposition of the two edges to be welded (SB1, SB2). A transfer device (130) moves the support (121) between the preparation unit (120) and the welding unit (140) in order to pass the welding zone (122) of the support (121) into the fixed axis (142, 143) of the welding beam and to carry out the welding of the two superposed edges (SB1, SB2). |
