摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric power generation method capable of generating power efficiently and stably by utilizing waste heat of a heat source material such as a high temperature steel in a steel production process.SOLUTION: In a thermoelectric power generation method using a heat source material preserved in a preservation yard, a movable wall (a) which has a thermoelectric element (e) built in a wall surface becoming a heat receiving surface and is capable of approaching the heat source material or receding therefrom is provided in the preservation yard, and thermoelectric power generation by the thermoelectric element (e) is performed in a state where the movable wall (a) is facing a heat source material (s) at a position of a predetermined distance therefrom. Position of the movable wall (a) is determined by setting the distance between the heat source material (s) and the movable wall (a) so as to maximize the generation power P or thermoelectric conversion efficiency &eegr;. Since power can be generated by heat of the heat source material (s), thermoelectric power generation can be performed efficiently depending on the temperature of the heat source material (s) and the characteristics of the thermoelectric element (e).
