PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buckle for a belt which has a compact and simple structure, facilitates fastening and unfastening of a belt, and prevents the unexpected unfastening of the belt.SOLUTION: A base member 4 and a cover member 7 are nested with each other, and connected with a pivot pin 12. The base member includes a belt locking device associated with an upper plate 5 of the cover member at a position at which the cover member is closed. The belt locking device includes a locking member 8 turnably attached to the pivot pin and having first and second pawls 10a and 10b. At a closed position of the cover member, while the bottom surface of the locking member is brought into contact with a bottom plate 1 of the base member, the first pawl bites into the belt, and the belt is locked between the first pawl and an upper plate. When the belt is drawn in a draw-out direction at the closed position, the locking member is turned until abutting against an inhibition wall 3 while bringing a connecting portion 8g into contact with the bottom plate, the second pawl bites into the belt deeper than the first pawl, and the belt is locked between the second pawl and the upper plate. |
