The apparatus has a tensioning rail (50) rotatably connected with a pivot. A U-shaped wire spring (30) whose an open-sided end is located in contact with a bolt (60) and rests against the bolt. The tensioning rail is provided with a support, where one end of the wire spring is held at the tensioning rail, and the wire spring is pre-tensioned, in order to exert pressing force at the tensioning rail such that the string is held with sufficing voltage. A support comprises a running recess over the thickness of the tensioning rail, where one end of wire spring is held in the recess.
