PURPOSE: A thermal reduction device for manufacturing magnesium and a magnesium manufacturing method using the same are provided to improve the efficiency of producing magnesium, to make a vacuum thermal reduction reaction easy, and to make the inflow of magnesian steam into condensers easy. CONSTITUTION: A thermal reduction device for manufacturing magnesium includes a thermal reduction furnace (400), a thermal reduction reaction pipe (410), condensers (500), and a vacuum pump (600). The thermal reduction furnace heats a green compact briquette in which calcined dolomite, ferrosilicon, and fluorite powder are mixed. The thermal reduction reaction pipe is a cylindrical retort in which a vacuum thermal reduction reaction is performed by being heated by the thermal reduction furnace. The condensers alternately condense the magnesian steam generated in the thermal reduction reaction pipe. The vacuum pump makes the insides of the condensers vacuous.
