The device (100) has a retainer (90) including a deformable arm and a fixed leg. A base point of a bimetallic strip (10) is attached at a set of deformable legs. The fixed leg includes an actuating unit that is able to be moved in a direction of the deformable legs. The fixed leg is allowed to contact the actuating unit and the deformable legs. The actuating unit and the deformable legs are together tilted with the bimetallic strip such that a tip of the bimetallic strip is able to be adjusted. An independent claim is also included for an electrical switch.
