PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for efficiently recovering heat from molten slag generated in a blast furnace.SOLUTION: The molten slag M generated in the blast furnace is fed into a mold 11 to cast a plate-like solidified slag S. The solidified slag is fed to a heat recovery device 13 under a hot shape restraint so that a ratio of the greatest diameter to the plate thickness of the solidified slag is controlled to 2.5-10.5. A heat-recovering gas G is fed to the heat recovery device 13 to recover heat of the plate-like solidified slag S through the gas G.
