PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a liquid developer which is excellent in pulverizability of a toner material and can efficiently produce a liquid developer excellent in charging property of positive charging, and to provide a liquid developer excellent in charging property of positive charging.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of producing a liquid developer, the method comprising the steps of: in an insulating liquid, obtaining a dispersion in which fine particles are dispersed pulverizing a toner material containing a styrene-acrylic resin and a colorant under the presence of an acryl-modified silicone which is substantially insoluble in the insulating liquid and a solvent in which the acryl-modified silicone is soluble and which is soluble in the insulating liquid; and obtaining a liquid developer in which toner particles are dispersed in the insulating liquid by subjecting the dispersion to thermal treatment at a temperature higher than the glass transition temperature of the styrene-acrylic resin while applying shear force to the dispersion. |
