A method for providing a GUI(Graphic User Interface) to display variation of frequencies in an analog method and a portable device using the same are provided to enable a user to intuitively confirm a shift of frequencies to receive broadcast signals by providing a GUI to show frequency variation in an analog method. A GUI screen, displayed when an audio player is in radio reception mode, comprises a frequency region(190A), a scale bar region(190B), a pointer(190C), and a frequency shift direction indication region(190D). The frequency region(190A) displays numeric information for a radio broadcast frequency selected through an operation part by a user and tuned through a radio receiving part. The scale bar region(190B), graduated in frequencies, enables a user to intuitively confirm whether radio broadcast frequencies get increased or decreased. The pointer(190C) indicates a relative position for a tuned frequency on the scale bar region(190B). The pointer(190C) is overlapped and displayed on the scale bar region(190B). The frequency shift direction indication region(190D), composed of a right direction indicator and a left direction indicator, indicates a frequency shift direction when a change of radio broadcast frequencies is generated. The right direction indicator or the left direction indicator is activated as radio broadcast frequencies get increased or decreased. |
