The silencer (1) has a housing (5) whose interior volume (4) represents a storage volume for a refrigerant i.e. R744. A set of openings (7a, 7b, 8a, 8b) is provided in the housing, where the openings serve as outlet for the refrigerant. Two half-shells (2, 3) are arranged in the silencer, where the half-shells are producible by extrusion molding. The half-shells are rotationally symmetrically formed and are essentially identical. One of the openings has a significant larger diameter than the diameter of another opening.
