Disclosed is a method for transmitting data in a wireless local area network, comprising a receiving end generates a very high throughput (VHT) control frame, wherein in the VHT control frame, a bit indicating the type of the frame format and a bit in the field indicating the number of space time stream form a binary information bit group; the VHT control frame is transmitted to a transmitting end, wherein the binary information bit group in the VHT control frame is used for requesting the transmitting end to use midamble in data transmission, so that the transmitting end inserts a long training field to the data transmitted to the receiving end.
