PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize efficient resource management by optimization of user information to be expanded on a storage device of a compound machine.SOLUTION: The compound machine comprises: authentication means which, when receiving authentication from a user who uses the compound machine, performs authentication using user information obtained by storing the user information in a main storage device; comparison means which, if the authentication by the authentication means is a failure, compares a time needed to retrieve the user information from an auxiliary storage device with a time needed to initialize all the users stored in the auxiliary storage device; and retrieval means which retrieves the user by a method determined by the comparison means to need shorter time to perform the initialization.
