PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio relay device and a radio communication method which can control handover of a radio terminal to enhance throughput after the handover.SOLUTION: A radio relay device 10 comprises: a base station side communication unit 22; a terminal side communication unit 32; control units 24 and 34 which acquire a MCS (Modulation and Coding Scheme) from the data received by the base station side communication unit 22 from a radio base station, and calculates an amount of uplink transmittable bit which is an amount of transmittable bit from the radio base station to the radio relay device 10. The control units 24 and 34 acquire a CQI (Channel Quality Indicator) from the data received by the terminal side communication unit 32 from a radio terminal, calculates an amount of downlink transmittable bit on the basis of the CQI, and determines whether to instruct the radio terminal to handover to the radio base station on the basis of the amount of uplink transmittable bit and the amount of downlink transmittable bit. |
