PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starter, which is configured so that a pinion gear and a ring gear can maintain a stable and proper helical meshing condition while providing a pinion mechanism with a damper mechanism.SOLUTION: A pinon gear 74 is formed in such a manner that thrust load is generated in a direction separating from the ring gear 23 when the rotating speed of the ring gear 23 is higher than the rotating speed of the pinion gear 74 in the helical meshing with the ring gear 23. The spring load F1 of the pinion spring 74 is set to satisfy F1>F2, where F1 is the spring load of the pinion spring 74 and F2 is the thrust load. |
