PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-piece golf ball that is a golf ball using an ionomer resin, and has excellent repulsion and controllability.SOLUTION: The multi-piece golf ball includes a core comprising a center and an envelope layer for covering the center, and at least one cover for covering the core. The center is formed of a center composition containing (A) at least one kind of a resin constituent selected from a group composed of (a-1) a binary copolymer of olefin and an α, &bgr;-unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, (a-2) an ionomer resin comprising a metal ion neutralized product of a binary copolymer of olefin and an α, &bgr;-unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, (a-3) a ternary copolymer of olefin, an α, &bgr;-unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, and α, &bgr;-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester, and (a-4) an ionomer resin comprising a metal ion neutralized product of a ternary copolymer of olefin, an α, &bgr;-unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, and α, &bgr;-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester; and (B) a basic fatty acid metal salt. The envelope layer is formed of a rubber composition. |
