PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite material showing sufficient self-cleaning performance when brought into contact with copious amount of water (rainwater), while not generating striated blots comprising sand dust or the like deposited on the surface even when the quantity of water (rainwater) is small.SOLUTION: This composite material is equipped with a substrate and a surface layer formed on the surface of the substrate; where the surface layer includes a first material and a second material, the first material is a compound selected from the group consisting of silica, alkali silicate, alumina and amorphous titania and the second material is a compound selected from the group consisting of oxides, inorganic salts and organic salts containing metals selected from the group consisting of Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Ga, Zr, Y, In and Hf, where the second material is blended by 30-70 mass% in terms of oxide thereof to the total mass of the mass of the first material and the mass of the second material in terms of oxide thereof. |
