The present invention relates to an apparatus for recognizing an object, to an apparatus for learning a classification tree, and to a method for operating same. The apparatus for recognizing an object can include: an input unit for receiving a depth image for an analyzing target; and a processing unit for recognizing the visible object part of the analyzing target and the hidden object part of the analyzing target from the depth image by using a classification tree.
