Provided in embodiments of the present invention are a method, device, and system for data communication. The method comprises: transmitting an association request message to an access point; receiving an association response message transmitted by the access point, where the association response message comprises an association identity; generating a data frame, where the format of the data frame is a simplified frame format, a frame header of the data frame comprises a source address and a destination address, where the length of the source address is shorter than the length of a media access control (MAC) address, the source address comprises the association identity, or the association identity and a multicast/unicast indication, or the association identity and a data type, or the association identity, the data type, and the multicast/unicast indication; and transmitting the data frame to the access point. In the embodiments of the present invention, because the length of the source address in the frame header of the data frame is shorter than the length of the MAC address, compared with the data frame in the prior art, the length of the data frame is reduced, thus increasing the transmission efficiency of the data frame. |
