The present invention attempts to solve the problem of providing the following: a molding material on which fingerprints are difficult to discern, despite said molding material exhibiting glossiness or transparency; a coating composition that can form a surface layer that exhibits the aforementioned effect; and a method for manufacturing the aforementioned molding material. This molding material has a surface layer on at least one surface, the 60° specular glossiness of said surface layer as defined by JIS Z8741:1997 is at least 60%, and the receding contact angle (thetar) of oleic acid thereon is at least 60°.
