The proposed method relates to the field of engineering physics, in particular to spectral methods for determining the elemental composition of liquid media using electrical discharge in the liquid as a source of spectra. The method can be implemented in devices for determining the elemental composition of liquid media. Field of use: in the water treatment systems of companies that supply water to residential areas, in atomic and thermal power engineering, in the chemical industry, in the technical process used to monitor water quality in the food industry, in the ecological monitoring of natural environments, and in other areas. The technical result of the invention is an increase in the stability and reproducibility of measurement results, as well as in the reliable long-term functioning of the device.
