PURPOSE: A display device, a user input device, and a control method thereof are provided to naturally change a display mode and offer the input of 4 directions which are familiar with a user and the input of a touch pad at the same time, thereby providing a stable and convenient operation environment. CONSTITUTION: A display unit (130) displays a user interface (UI) screen. A communication unit (110) receives a mode conversion command from a user input device having an operation method corresponding to display modes. A control unit (120) reconstructs the UI screen according to the mode conversion command. The mode conversion command is inputted by an operation method corresponding to a display mode which is different from a current display mode.
