The present invention relates to the use of Alliaceae hydrolates, such as hydrolates of onion, garlic and the like as medicament, particularly for cosmetic and therapeutic treatments or as a flavoring ingredient in food products. Such Alliaceae hydrolates can be used as such in cosmetic or therapeutic treatments, including aromatherapy, or alternatively may constitute an ingredient (active ingredient) for the manufacture of a cosmetic or pharmaceutical product. The above hydrolates can be obtained by distillation techniques of an Alliaceae plant material which are per se conventional, in particular by steam distillation. |
