A protective phone case 20 for a cellular (mobile) phone (not shown) comprising a back surface including a notch shaped cut-out 32 forming and providing access to an opening for receiving credit cards or other flat elongate objects between the back surface of the cellular phone and an internal surface of the protective phone case. Further, the back surface may have an external surface suitable for supporting a reflective material such as a mirror 26. The notch may be formed adjacent a bottom edge of the case and may take the shape of an elongate, low amplitude Gaussian waveform. In use, the protective phone cover may be suitable for conveniently carrying a mobile phone and a minimal number of important items such as credit card, travel card or paper money.
