PURPOSE: A security system and a security counter to which the same is applied are provided for a cashier to activate a regulating unit without being known to an attacker and is provided to emit strong light from a light emitting unit and spray self-protection gas from a gas unit at the same time, thereby overpowering the attacker. CONSTITUTION: A security system comprises a regulating unit (30), a light emitting unit (10) and a gas unit (20). The regulating unit is operated by humans. The light emitting unit emits strong light towards the eyes of an attacker at the moment when the regulating unit is enlarged. The gas unit sprays self-protection gas towards the attacker at the moment when the regulating unit is enlarged.
