PURPOSE: A data processing device and a power control method thereof are provided to connect a wireless broadband (WiBro) module and a wireless local area network (LAN) module to the data processing device. CONSTITUTION: A display part displays data transmission/reception states of a first and a second communications module. A power supply part (50) selectively supplies power to the first and second communications modules. A communications control part (40) determines whether to execute the first and second communications modules according to a user command with operation instructions received from a user input part and to the data transmission/reception states of the first and second communications modules. A power control part (60) controls the power supply part in order to supply power to the first and second communications modules based on the determination of execution status.
