A post holder assembly (6) for a post driver is retatably mounted beneath a striker plate (8) of the post driver which is mounted on a mast (3) beneath a hammer (4) of the post driver. The post holder assembly (6) has a cap rotator (10) with a socket (11) for reception of the top of a stake to be driven by the hammer (4). A ram (12) extending between a carriage (9) mounting the striker plate (8) on the mast (3) and the cap rotator (10) is operable to rotate the cap rotator (10)and hence a post engaged therewith for alignment of the post in the ground. the cap rotator (10) has a circular mounting plate (26) rotatably mounted on a mounting support (15) which is bolted to the bottom of the striker plate (8).
