PURPOSE: An event providing method of a portable terminal having a flexible display part and a device thereof are provided to extend a display region to the side in addition to the front by implementing the flexible display part on the portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: A flexible display part (100) includes a main display region at the front and an auxiliary display region at the side. The auxiliary display region is formed by extending the main display region to the side of a portable terminal. A sensor module (330) detects the state of the portable terminal. A control part (390) outputs event information to at least one display region among the main display region and auxiliary display region of the flexible display part by corresponding to the detected state of the portable terminal.
