The assembly at a crane to measure the horizontal position of a swinging load (2) carried by suspension cables (4,6) at the overhead crane (16) registers the horizontal gap (A) at least at one cable between the suspension points (12,14) and the load mounting points (8,10) in relation to a reference point (P). The measurements are taken at the load, using an optical laser aligned at a reflection surface at the cable, with a receiver to take the reflected light. The receiver has a data link to a control to correct the load position. |
